Congratulations Katie! May’s Nurse of the Month

This is following some fantastic feedback from a patient Katie cared for:

“Katie looked after me at the start of her night shift. She was very professional through and conscientious in her work. She had great attention to detail and was very helpful throughout. Her clinical skills were excellent, and she had a very pleasant bedside manner. She also had excellent communication skills. It was a pleasure being nursed by such a competent staff nurse.”

We caught up with Katie to see how he feels about being our Nurse of the Month.

How long have you been working with the Guild?

I have been working with the Guild for the last 7 months.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy delivering quality care to patients regardless of where I am and the variety of care that I give. No day is the same as another.

What attracted you to join the Guild?

The guild has an excellent reputation as an employer of agency healthcare staff. I really enjoy working with and for them. I love that there is a choice around when and where I work and a very useful app to help manage shift scheduling. The Guild also offer training to improve skills and count towards your CPD.

How do you feel about being our Nurse of the Month?

I am delighted and very surprised to win nurse of the month. It’s heart-warming to feel that my work is being recognised and I am proud to have represented Scottish Nursing Guild so positively.
