Vince, Northern Ireland’s Nurse of the Year.

Congratulations Vince, Northern Ireland’s Nurse of the Year. We caught up with Vince on his win:

How long have you been working with the Guild?

I joined in 2017, the management and staff are very professional and efficient and are great at providing support with training.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I have always wanted to work in a caring profession. As an A&E nurse, I am working with patients at a given time all with different conditions needing various treatment, coordinating all care and at the same time, helping to make them feel better. This is something that I enjoy because within minutes, I am part of a team that could save someone’s life.

What attracted you to join the Guild?

The company stands out from other similar agencies because of its great reputation in providing quality nursing care services.

How do you feel about being our Nurse of the Year?

I am humbled and grateful at the same time, that the Belfast team had nominated me for this distinguished award. It is indeed a great honour to be recognised as a nurse of the year. Given that this coincides with the 25th anniversary celebration of the organisation makes it even more fulfilling. Being chosen is a great accomplishment to me both personally and professionally.

What made you continue to work during a pandemic?

With the difficulties brought by COVID 19, the history in the making of our profession it gives me an immense pride that healthcare workers have adapted to practice clinical changes and still carry on everyday providing the high standards of care for our patients.
