ROI COVID-19 Guidance - self-isolation (04)

You will need to self-isolate:
  • If you have symptoms of coronavirus
  • Before you get tested for coronavirus
  • While you wait for test results
  • If you have had a positive test result for coronavirus
  • If you arrived in Ireland from Brazil or South Africa
  • If you are a ‘close contact’ of someone who arrived in Ireland from Brazil or South Africa, who tested positive for COVID-19
  • If you are being tested as a ‘close contact‘ and you do not have symptoms of COVID-19, you should restrict your movements. You will only need to self-isolate if you develop symptoms of COVID-19.

Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people. Behave as if you have the virus. People you live with will also  have to restrict their movements

Only stop self-isolation when both of these apply to you:
  • You have had no fever for 5 days
  • It’s been 10 days since you first developed symptoms
