Flexible work options with the Guild

We believe that all health professionals should have access to flexible work opportunities. Many Guild workers choose agency work because it allows them to spend more time with their families or to care for loved ones.

Joining the Guild will allow you to control when you work, whilst still earning some of the most competitive rates around. You will not be required to work a set number of shifts per week with us – you can work as little or often as you like.

When you complete the registration process, you’ll be given access to our online booking app called Quick Nurse. Through this app, you can manage your diary and search for shifts on the dates and times that suit you.

But don’t just take our word for it. Here’s a few comments from some of our full time agency nurses:

Sarah has worked full time for the Guild for a number of years. Here is her story:

“Working for the Guild has given me flexibility which is just what I need as my children are young. My work & home life balance has improved greatly, freeing up more time for me to focus on my family and myself. Taking the step to work full time for the Guild was a scary concept but I know I made the right decision.”

“The NHS is fabulous in so many ways and as a registered nurse I thought it was where I would spend much of my nursing career. But shift patterns and work pressures were beginning to take their toll on me and although my work colleagues would often show great support, I found that I was not enjoying my work as much as I used to. Working for the Guild has restored my faith, meaning I’m a much happier nurse and I am looking forward to my future career with the Guild.”

Owen is one of our longest serving nurses. Here is Owen’s story:

“I became a full time agency nurse because I had a young family and it suited my lifestyle. Compared to the NHS, working as a full time agency nurse gives you more freedom. You can holiday when you want and dictate your own work patterns. I also find it is much less stressful than working in the NHS as you are your own boss.”
